The Akron Skate Park was opened on September 15th, 2001. The 19,000 sq. foot fiberglass reinforced concrete Skatepark was designed with the help of a committee of local skaters from various skill levels ranging in age from 12-20. The park features stairs, a seven foot deep bowl, a sixty five foot long snake roll, a four sided pyramid, a spine, ledges, rails, and quarter pipes. Located between the Akron-Fulton airport, where the Goodyear Blimp resides, and the former place of University of Akron's Rubber Bowl the park provides top notch functionality and visual splendor for skaters.
